Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of UpurCV, the website that lets you host an online CV and let visitors ask an AI assistant about your experience. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

The service

We provide tools to create a profile, upload a PDF CV and photo, add private notes for the assistant, choose public or private visibility, and share a page where visitors can view the CV and ask questions.

The service is currently free. We do not process payments. If we introduce paid plans later, we will update these Terms before charging anyone.

Accounts

• You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority in your country, to create an account.
• Provide accurate information and keep your password secret. One person, one account.
• New signups must verify their email before they can log in.
• You can change your password while signed in from Account Settings, or use Forgot password on the log in page if you are locked out.

Your content

You own the profile text, CV, photo, links, and knowledge notes you upload. You grant us a licence to host them, display them according to the visibility you set, and send the context the assistant needs to the AI provider.

You must have the rights to everything you upload. Do not post unlawful content, or other people’s personal data, unless you have a lawful basis. Do not upload special-category data about other people.

Visibility and Access PIN

You choose whether your CV is public or private. A public URL can be opened by anyone who has it. For a private CV you set an Access PIN and are responsible for who receives it. The first name on the profile is shown on the unlock screen.

AI chat

Answers are generated from your profile, extracted CV text, and knowledge notes. They can be incomplete or wrong. Do not treat them as professional, legal, or hiring advice.

Visitors must not use the chat to try to extract other people’s private data or to abuse the service. We limit visitors to 5 questions per profile per day and 10 requests per minute.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• Scrape, overload, or disrupt the service
• Upload malware or attempt unauthorised access
• Impersonate another person
• Use the service to process special-category data of others, or to send unlawful, harassing, or deceptive content

We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.

Liability

The service is provided “as is”. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free AI answers. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made based on a CV page or chat answer.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights in the EEA or UK, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable European Union law. If you are a consumer living in the EEA or the UK, you also keep the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you may bring a dispute in the courts of that country.

Otherwise, try to resolve the issue with us first at support@upurcv.com. If that fails, courts with jurisdiction under EU law may hear the dispute.

Termination

You can delete your account from the dashboard at any time. We can suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or abuse the service. After deletion, we remove your account and profile data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms, except where the law requires a different process.
